Fred Phelp's Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to picket Heath Ledger's funeral. You may recall hearing about these douchebags before; last October the church was ordered to pay eleven million dollars to the family of a soldier killed in Iraq after doing the exact same thing. According to the horrifying press release, the church is picketing Ledger's funeral because of his involvement with the movie Brokeback Mountain. I could have guessed that without the explanation since the web address cited at the top of the release is "www.godhatesfags.com". I do not provide a clickable link because the thought of having an actual working connection with such people — even in the half-reality of cyberspace — makes me fucking nauseous.
Would it be tacky to picket Fred Phelps' funeral when the time comes? What would be the point, other than to say good riddance?

Wow...so I'm on his site right now and at least he's consistent. God, it turns out, hates pretty much everybody. He hates Canada. He hates the USA. He hates priests. He worships some sort of Asshole God. But not in a gay way.
I need to meet this asshole, so I can kick him in the dick really really hard...

I wanted to come on and say really mean and awful things about this puke, but I just can't bring myself to do it. It's way too "lowering yourself to their level"....and just bad karma. On that note, I won't participate in picketing this mans funeral...but I will laugh on the inside and watch while you do it...
